This ornamental grass derives its name from the horizontal stripes and stiff leaves. Zebra Grass is often mistaken for Porcupine Grass (G - 1270 Miscanthus sinensis strictus), but Zebra Grass is distinguishable by its arching habit. As with Porcupine grass, this ornamental has copper colored flowers appearing in September.
